Protest against border fence PDF Print E-mail
Our organisation participated at the demonstration addressing the new restrictive laws against refugees and the government’s plans to build a border fence along Hungary’s border with Serbia, on the 14th July, 2015. Speakers at the event outlined that  the "wall" will not solve any problem, it won't keep migrants out of Hungary, they will go around - it is more of a propaganda tool to boost support for Fidesz. Newly adopted restrictive changes to Hungary’s refugee laws have effectively “written Hungary off from the rest of civilized Europe”. The government was accused of extreme cynicism for referring to people fleeing war zones as “economic migrants”.

The demonstration started at the Szent István Basilica, ended at Kossuth square, at the Hungarian Parliament.
