The objective of the project Sport Welcomes Refugees - Social inclusion of newly arrived migrants in and through sport is to enhance the social inclusion and participation of newly arrived migrants on different levels of sport (formal and informal) through training, awareness-raising and capacity-building of sport stakeholders. European Sport Inclusion Network Conference

 For the closing event of the 2-year ESPIN project, more than 70 delegates from 10 countries sports organisations, NGO-s, public institutions gathered in Budapest to discuss how sport can promote the integration of migrants, refugees, minorities. In the opening session, Tibor Vámos (MLSZ) Gibril Deen (Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organisation) Kurt Wachter (VIDC) accentuated the power of sports bringing people together, overcoming cultural, social differences.
